Dear Friends,
Before you swipe right, scroll down, or click ‘next’, I plead for your patience to read the following lines. I promise you, I will try to keep it short.
In the past 2 weeks, my thoughts have been all scrambled. My brain is foggy, and I feel like I can’t function properly because of everything that’s going on in Ukraine. I know, you’re probably telling yourself “Max is exaggerating” or “why does it affect Max so much”. For those who know me well, I am certain you understand my reasons. For those who don’t, please bare with me for a minute.
In recent weeks, I’ve fallen victim to the culprit of procrastination. Every night, I tell myself I will do something to help the situation in Ukraine. Every morning, however, despite the situation escalating to worse matters, I end up not doing anything. And this notion of procrastination, I believe, is a big issue for observers like you and me monitoring the situation in Ukraine from afar. Whether we like it or not, the fact that we have instant access to information through social media makes us feel closer to the situation. But the only way of really getting closer is by helping.
This is why I have decided to help Ukraine by setting up my GoFundMe page with a goal of raising €10,000. The proceeds will go to various humanitarian associations, including Doctors Without Borders, Save the Children, and Hotel Aurora - a Romanian hotel near the border sheltering Ukrainian refugees for free. I imagine you’re telling yourself that you can donate without going through my GoFundMe. My answer: you would have done so already. But with my GoFundMe and the ease of the process, you no longer have a reason not to make a donation. Today we have the opportunity to act instead of wondering about our potential past actions
Thank you very much, and, as always, every donation counts. Please do not hesitate to share this story/message with your followers/relatives, along with the #LetsDoSomething hashtag.
