Max's Eagle Scout Project 2017

I plan to build a bridge connecting a loop trail around Jones Pond in Morristownship NJ, two benches on opposite sides of the pond, about 50 feet of puncheons (boadwalk) connecting the bridge to the trail, I will be clearing the loop trail of fallen trees and low branches, and I will be blazing and creating a nearly 700 foot trail connecting the loop trail to Picatinny road. I will mark the fallen logs for the township to cut. After the pieces are cut, my crew and I will remove them. These changes will make for a much more pleasant experience of walking along Jones Pond, and will help visitors feel more welcomed.

Morristown is interested in attracting new visitors to the area. I believe that my project will do a great job at helping the town do this by making the trail more enjoyable to visitors. The benches will provide a place for the visitors to rest, and the bridge will allow visitors to walk a complete circle around the pond. Lastly, clearing the overhanging branches and fallen trees will create a safer, easier path for visitors to navigate.

The funds I will collect from this campaign will go into buying materials that I will need to build the benches, bridge, and puncheons. They will also be used to buy the supplies that I will need to clear the loop trail and create the trail from the pond to Picatinny road.  It will even be used to provide food and snacks for the hardworking vounteers helping me with my project. I would be very grateful for anything you can contribute toward our goal in support of my Eagle project and Morris Township
