Max’s Borneo expedition 2026

Hello! My name is Max and I have been given an incredible opportunity - to make a difference in Borneo, Malaysia. The expedition will take place in the summer of 2026 over four weeks and I really look forward to it.

This trip is a chance to learn about Borneo jungle and the challenges faced in this important habitat – home to many species including orangutans. I will be involved in helping to build classrooms, constructing and refurbishing community buildings and installing water storage systems. Also, project work will include working on reforesting the area by growing and replanting native trees. The projects, which I will be involved in will benefit the local school and wider community (such as low level construction, painting, plastering and brick laying).

This expedition is life changing for me and hopefully for communities in Borneo too. I am really determined to raise the funds for this trip myself, so I recently had a summer job at a diving centre helping to clean and organise diving equipment. I’m planning to fundraise through school bake-sales, various cleaning jobs, volunteering and second hand sales.

Any donations, however small, will help me to achieve my goal. To be a part of an organisation such as Camps International would give me a view of the world a 14 year old normally wouldn’t have.
