The Maui Mental Health Relief Fund was created to support parents, children, firefighters, volunteers, those who have lost their homes, and those who have lost their loved ones.
A tremendous amount of grief, loss, and trauma is rippling through our community, and we aren’t meant to piece things back together alone.
This fund has been created to help with immediate crisis relief, as well as long-term therapeutic support for anyone who was impacted by the fires.
We will be pairing those in need of support with qualified licensed therapists.
I am a Maui based therapist and clinical social worker working on the frontlines of the relief efforts here on Maui. Myself and an entire army of counselors and therapists activated our volunteer efforts in the shelters and evacuation centers during the first 2 weeks. Many of us are now distributing our efforts across the island providing both individual and group counseling in person and remotely.
I have seen and felt first hand the immense grief and trauma this community has experienced since the day of the fires. With collective trauma comes collective healing. The Maui Mental Health Relief Fund is on a mission to provide a sustainable path of support for both community members and service providers long-term.
Noone will be turned away for lack of funds. Anyone on Maui can receive support through the fund, regardless of their proximity to fires. If you are or were a Maui resident at the time of the fires, we are here for you.
Simply fill out our google form on our website letting us know that you would like support and we will provide you with support as best as we are able.
The fund will cover your co-pays, cost of sessions for uninsured, and we will be facilitating community events around healing with sound baths, restorative yoga, talk story / grief circles, breath work guided meditation, and other healing modalities.
