In August 2024, my life changed forever after a traumatic bike accident that left me with a TBI (Traumatic Brain Injury) multiple broken bones, severe lacerations, and nearly cost me my life. The physical pain was overwhelming, and the mental toll was just as hard to bear. After months of intense rehab and therapy, I’m still living with the effects of those injuries every day.
But through it all, I held onto one goal: to run the London Marathon in 2025. I had secured my entry before the accident, and I made it my mission to push through and achieve it, no matter how hard the journey became. Every day is a challenge, but it’s also a reminder of how far I’ve come.
The road ahead is still long, but I’m determined to turn my experience into something meaningful. The marathon isn’t just a race for me – it’s a symbol of my resilience and a testament to the strength I’ve found, even in the darkest moments.
The charity I’ve chosen to support is Billy Lardner's Legacy Fund, which is close to our hearts within our family and local community. The tragic loss of 16-year-old Billy has deeply affected my family and friends, and this fund is dedicated to honoring his memory. Billy’s life was unimaginably taken far too soon in a fatal hit and run accident In June 2023 . His Legacy Fund helps raise money to support young people in accessing sports, activities, and the assistance they may need, particularly for those with greater financial needs or from underprivileged backgrounds. Recently, the fundraising efforts have expanded further, helping schools in South Asia as well as local schools in Dorset. Please take a minute to look at the Facebook page to see where some of the funding has helped.
