Matthew's Servant Leadership Project - Axis Church Pergola
Donation protected
Help me complete my Trail Life USA Servant Leadership Project! Trail Life USA is a Christ centered outdoor program for boys focused on developing adventure, character, and leadership skills. After years of participating in the program I am in the process of earning my Freedom Award (similar to the BSA Eagle Scout Award many are familiar with), the highest rank in Trail Life. My servant leadership project consists of constructing a wooden pergola on Axis Church property. This structure will benefit both the church and Kala Coffeehouse since it will be built on the coffee shop patio. It will serve as a peaceful prayer and reflection space as well as a leisurely hangout area. My hope is that it will foster deep, personal conversations with God and strengthen the bonds of church members with one another. It can also be used as a place for calm worship, evangelistic discussions with strangers seeking to know God, or other intentional actions that bring God glory and gladness. I chose this project because Axis has been my church home since I was two years old and I want to give back to all the people who have played a part in building my faith. All church members will benefit from this project, especially the pastors and staff who are more actively on the property than the rest of the congregation. And as I eluded to, strangers who I have never met will benefit from this outdoor space, whether they are seeking a new church family, seeking out God for the first time, or just trying to enjoy a cup of coffee. I need to raise $1,500 to meet the budget for the pergola materials, I greatly appreciate your donations to help make my service project a reality!
