Hi everyone,

My name is Gabriela Salcedo and Caro is my little sister. It is with a heavy heart that I share the devastating news of the sudden passing of my brother-in-law, Matthew Taitague — a loving husband, dedicated father, a son, a brother and a loyal friend. The kind of person who would give you the shirt off his back without a second thought.

Matt was a kind, hard-working, and a generous soul who loved his family more than anything. He made sure that anyone who crossed his path felt included and was treated like family. His unexpected passing has left a tremendous void in all of our life's and those who knew and loved him especially his wife, Carolina Salcedo, and their two young children, Jacob-8yrs old, and Sirena-6 years old, who are now facing life without their dad, their superhero, their rock, their protector, and their provider.

My little sister is now facing every mother’s and wife’s worst nightmare: raising two little ones without their dad, while trying to keep herself and her family together emotionally, mentally, and financially. She’s doing her best to stay strong, but no one should have to walk through something like this alone.

I'm starting this GoFundMe to support my sister and her children in the days, months, and years ahead. The funds raised will go toward:

Matt loved his kids fiercely. He loved my sister with all his heart. And now, it’s our turn to love and support them as they try to find their way in this incredibly difficult journey ahead.

Mi nombre es Gabriela Salcedo y Caro es mi hermana pequeña. Con el corazon pesado les comparto la devastadora noticia del repentino fallecimiento de mi cuñado, Matthew Taitague: un esposo amoroso, un padre dedicado, un hijo, un hermano y un amigo leal. El tipo de persona que te daría lo que trai puesto sin pensarlo dos veces.

Matt era amable, trabajador, generoso y amaba a su familia por encima de todo. Se aseguraba de que todos los que se cruzaran en su camino se sintieran incluidos y tratados como familia. Su inesperado fallecimiento ha dejado un enorme vacío en la vida de todos nosotros quienes lo conocieron y amaron, especialmente en su esposa, Carolina Salcedo, y sus dos hijos pequeños, Jacob, de 8 años, y Sirena, de 6, quienes ahora enfrentan la vida sin su padre, su superhéroe, su apoyo, su protector y su sostén.
