Matthew Sanders Hope Initiative Launch

On April 9, 2025, we lost a light, Matthew Sanders. His smile, his lovingness, and his beautiful soul left a mark on everyone who knew him.

The Matthew Sanders Hope Initiative (MS Hope Initiative) was created to honor Matthew's legacy and to provide support for children and young adults in the metropolitan Detroit area who are coping with suicide loss. Losing someone you love changes your world forever, and too often, young people are left without the tools, resources, or community that they need to navigate their grief. This nonprofit is built on the belief that no one should have to go through that alone.

Through this fundraiser, we are raising the money needed to launch the MS Hope Initiative. Donations will go toward building a website, covering nonprofit fees, creating grief resource kits, and building connections in the community to help people on their healing journey.

Our vision is to create a safe and welcoming space where grieving members of the area can find guidance, community, and the strength as they work through the pain of losing a loved one.

Every donation, no matter the size, helps us take a step forward in turning this vision into a reality. Your support will allow us to honor Matthew's memory in a way that continues his legacy that he left behind, while offering comfort and resources to those who need it most. If you are unable to donate, please share this campaign as that still helps! We want to reach as many people as possible.

If everyone helps in the smallest way they can, we can build something really nice that carries everyone's light forward who were lost along the way and brings hope to others who are going through the motions of grief and loss.
