Matthew Read Recovery Help
Donation protected
Matthew Read became stranded and was severely injured while hiking in Glacier National Park on May 5, 2023. After his rescue, he has been undergoing medical treatment for his injuries, which his family has been paying for.
They recently met with the hyperbaric rehabilitation specialists at the Oxford Center in Brighton. The specialists recommended additional hyperbaric treatments, as did Matthew's surgeons. They would very much like to move forward with the treatments. They can take Matt as soon as Monday, August 7.
Matthew's insurance will not pay for the hyperbaric treatment of chronic wounds unless someone has diabetes. The GoFundMe goal has been updated to reflect the anticipated costs of the uninsured, pre-paid treatments and travel expenses.
Any additional funds would help offset non-covered expenses to date. But the urgent need is the $7000 for hospital quality, non-covered hyperbaric oxygen treatments, so he can get started right away on that.
