Matthew & Mya

Hi everyone, meet Matthew and Mya Hare! Since they were born early on December 28, 2021 (not due initially until the end of February) they have had quite the experience. They NEED our help! Their tiny lives began in the Sinai Hospital NICU in Maryland with visits from Mom and Dad every day. On January 19th, because they were thriving so well, they were finally cleared to be discharged from the NICU to go "home." This was exciting news for everyone, a day like most moms Chelsea Hare looked forward to since she found out she was pregnant.

That day Chelsea and I, Bobbie Siperko (Chelsea’s Aunt), headed to the hospital to scoop them up to bring them "home" to my house in Ellicott City. We received all care instructions and everything we needed to keep the babies thriving over the next few weeks and set off on our way. The babies rode in my car since Chelsea's car isn't the safest and was packed with all things baby. On the way home Chelsea had to make a quick stop at the store. This is where the tough part comes in and why these sweet babies (and their mom) need our help!

When Chelsea was leaving the store she saw someone who experienced a hit and run accident. Naturally she wanted to help and pulled her car to protect the person from being struck again. While she was getting out of the car to search for additional resources, she spotted a police officer headed her way. As she stepped out of her car to flag him over another car moving at full speed struck her. She never made it home to her babies that day.

Since January 19th Chelsea has been at the University of Maryland Shock Trauma. She sustained MANY injuries and had to go through an 11+ hour surgery. Her recovery will be long and require extensive care for quite some time. Because of her injuries and the fact that she is a Barber she will not be able to work for AT LEAST a year and it will be months before she can care for her babies alone.

Please help us help them! I will be managing all donations received on behalf of the babies as we continue to care for them 24/7 while their mom cannot do so herself. No amount is too small (seriously!) and will be put to good use for things such as diapers, formula/food, childcare, medication, doctor visits, and potential housing expenses once Chelsea is able to get back on her feet again.

On behalf of our family who is working tirelessly around the clock to help care for Matthew and Mya so that they can continue to thrive despite the circumstances, THANK YOU from the bottom of our hearts!<3
