Mats for Mental Health
Donation protected
Despite the hardships and health risks, millions of essential frontline workers continue to balance challenging home and work demands during the COVID-19 pandemic and events surrounding the death of George Floyd. Emotions in response to these uncertain times may include anxiety, fear, and sadness. Frontline workers may also feel helpless, discouraged, and notice physical responses such as headaches, muscle tension, and fatigue. Mats for Mental Health is an initiative built to drive a refocus on the self-care of frontline workers through yoga and meditation. Those who haven’t explored the world of yoga or meditation will have the opportunity to sit on their mat, breathe deeply, flow, and savasana - allowing deep restoration of the mind and body. This intentional effort to disconnect can reduce burnout, stress, anxiety, and levels of depression.
All funds will go towards purchasing yoga mats for frontline workers in Connecticut, New York, and Virginia. We will begin ordering mats as of 6/2/20. It will be truly incredible to impact the mental health of those risking their lives to keep us safe. We’re grateful for any and all donations you’re able to make.
