Maternity Support for Ambyr

Hello! I’m fundraising to support the time off that I need to give birth my son, some postpartum recovery time, and some help to get on my feet once my body has healed.

As most of you know, I work for myself and I am the only source for my income. I don’t get any maternity leave or paid time off from my work which is teaching yoga and meditation, massage, anatomy lessons, and of course my inclusive and intentional wedding planning.

My little rainbow miracle baby is due next week, on April 10th. This little being is so wanted, that he is almost 3 years in the making... IVF is hard and expensive and at times really, really sucks. (If you want any help with IVF stuff, I learned way more than I wanted to and would be really happy to help you).

I’m hoping to take a minimum of 40 days off and this money will help supplement the income I would usually be making, while I recover.

I have been resistant to ask for support, but the truth is, I could really use it. I asked a handful of my closest friends to chip in for lactation experts, postpartum care, mental health support, and nutritious food, and while I am so grateful for the support I’ve received so far, I'm still a long way from being able to fully take off from work and be fully present as a new mom in the way that I really need to be.

I'm so grateful for the 20 years I've been able to work in the healing fields, but with that, comes a real lack of institutional/corporate benefits- like parental leave.
