Mastectomy Pillow Fund
When I was diagnosed with breast cancer nearly 4 years ago, I was directed to a local charity that would help me out with some things that I might need. I walked in, told them why I was there and they promptly gave me a "Goody Bag" filled with items specific to the type of cance that I was diagnosed with. One of those items was a tiny pillow to wear under my seat belt after my mastectomy. I was very thankful for this. Recently I saw a video tuturiol on how to make this "Helping Hearts" Mastectomy Pillow and I was amazed. What I would have given to have one of these 3 years ago after my surgery. I have always wanted to give back to the charity that did so much for me and this pillow is how I can. I have made, so far, 8 pillows with 8 covers to donate and wish to make so many more. This fund will be used to purchase the materials needed to make these mastectomy pillows for those that need them.
