Masks4Arizona- CoronaVirus Support Fund

Donation protected
The fight against the CoronaVirus pandemic is not over, and first responders and health care workers still need our help. According to the New York Times as of May 17th, Arizona has reached almost 14,000 total cases demonstrating the number of confirmed cases is increasing daily. The information gathered demonstrates that Maricopa County holds over half of the confirmed cases and majority of the deaths with 7,240 cases and the 319 deaths. Pima County is second in having 1,814 cases and 157 deaths. As Arizona has begun reopening as of May 15th, it is important to remember the prevalence of the virus and the possibility for a drastic increase of cases. As we re-open, it is important to remember the stress and burden hospitals will likely experience with a possible influx of patients affected by COVID-19. Healthcare workers and first-responders are continuously placing themselves in high-risk situations in order to ensure the safety of our communities, and we hope to donate masks to these workers in efforts to help them remain safe at work and as a way to thank them for their service to our communities.

As a team from a local high school, University High School in Tucson, we hope to raise money in order to provide KN95 masks and surgical masks for hospitals, oral offices, and first responders in the Pima County and Maricopa County area. Our non-profit organization, Masks4Arizona, has previously raised $2745 which enabled us to purchase 2200 masks for hospitals and retirement communities in the Tucson area such as:
Banner - University Medical Center
Tucson Medical Center
Via Elegante Assisted Living
Tucson ER & Hospital
Villa Maria Care Center
We hope to continue aiding our essential healthcare workers during these difficult and confusing times and aim to expand our reach and aid other communities in need.

For Maricopa County, we hope to provide KN95 masks to hospitals and regular face masks to donate to the homeless population. Maricopa County is the region that has been affected the most by COVID-19 and we hope to help relieve some stress and worry by providing masks to doctors and nurses working on the front lines. We appreciate all the hard work and long hours that healthcare professionals have dedicated themselves to and, and we want to demonstrate our gratitude and support.

For Pima County, we hope to provide KN95 masks and surgical masks for dental offices, orthodontic offices and oral surgeons as well as first responders. Dental workers, as their offices re-open, will have high exposure as they work to provide the public with necessary services. It is important to recognize the sacrifice these workers are making for the health of the public. As they risk their health and the health of their family, it is crucial that these workers have access to the proper equipment and gear, including masks, in order for them to efficiently and safely practice. First responders also need support as they are constantly exposing themselves to the virus in order to ensure that communities are remaining safe and virus-free. Even during this period of re-opening, we hope to continue demonstrating our appreciation as we understand the countless challenges they are facing in efforts to protect our families, friends and communities.

We hope you can help us in demonstrating community support and appreciation for those that are putting themselves at risk for our safety.

Donating is not the only way to help! Please make sure you are continuing to practice safe social practices and wash your hands regularly. Also, wearing masks when out in public is the best way to demonstrate your respect and care for others and the cause.

Thank you so much for your support! We hope to continue providing for OUR community!

Thank You,

Masks4Arizona

FAQ

What will you do with the money?

100% of the funds will go directly to the purchase and delivery of masks for the healthcare workers in the hospitals in Arizona. We will also post updates on our Instagram account, so you can keep track of our mask donations. (instagram: @masks4arizona)

How much are you paying for the masks?

Exact cost is determined by the quantity of the order. All the money you donate will be used for the purchase of the masks and the shipping fee.

How will the masks get to the hospitals?

We will try to ship them directly to the hospitals and check with the hospitals to make sure they arrive. We will also personally deliver the masks to the hospitals if the first option doesn't work. We will also be shipping or delivering (depending on the safest option).

Aside from donations, how can we help?

If you have some extra masks at home, you can drop them off directly at the hospitals. Most hospitals are accepting N95s and surgical masks. For a list of hospitals that need personal protective equipment, check https://findthemasks.com. Or you can call hospitals near you directly to check with them.
