PPE for KC - Masks for Docs Kansas City Chapter

Donation protected
Greetings!

We are a Voluntary Association of makers in Kansas City (and surrounding areas) with 3D printers, who have come together at this moment of need in our community for Personal Protective Equipment at hospitals. We are printing protective face shields and donating them to local hospitals, clinics, and nurses with limited or no supplies. We have taken on the financial burden of the cost of printing (filament, electricity, printer wear, etc) and of some of the other needed elements (the elastic strap at the back of the mask). But, we are beginning to run short on filament and other items needed to complete the masks as well.

WE need YOUR help!

We still need the actual face shield plastic sheets. These cannot be printed because they have to be perfectly optically clear. So, that means we have to source the material and the cutting of them to spec.

We are partnering with a local company to fulfill the need for manufacturing the plastic visors.

We need to purchase more filament (discounted and in bulk) to distribute to our volunteers to keep them up and printing 24/7.

We also need to keep the option of getting a print farm in the mix and the cost of that should the need arise.

This went from being a small undertaking by a handful, to a large Voluntary Association with a LOT of requests coming in for PPE equipment. Several local groups have partnered together as one to make this easier to facilitate.

Would you please consider donating? We know that money is tight right now. Not everyone is getting paid during this 'break'. Please only give if you can afford to.

For those who can give, please help us to help those on the front lines of this pandemic. Their chances of catching the virus are GREATLY reduced when they have the proper equipment, but proper equipment is in a mass shortage right now.

Any amount helps towards our goal of getting PPE in the hands of those who need it. EVERY cent donated will go towards that effort, mainly in material costs.

We thank you from the bottom of our hearts for coming along side us to #MAKEaDifference to get the #ShieldsUp in KC!

Financial Flow Disclaimer:

We operate as a Voluntary Association and not a Non-Profit org. As such, all funds flow through a separate bank account under the name of the organizer (Joe Mike Terranella). All needs for the association are then purchased from said bank account. Any remaining donated funds at the end of any perceived need by the association will be re-donated to a similar org in need of funding for their ongoing effort to provide protection to the healthcare industry. A financial balance sheet of donations and material purchasing is always available by request. Direct all such requests to [email redacted]
