Mask bloc west is a disabled mutual aid group providing free N95/ KN95/ P2 respirator masks to community. We redistribute masks from Melbourne's west, unceded Wurundjeri and Boonwurrung country. We provide contactless pickup in Footscray and delivery to the inner north and inner western suburbs.
Please support our work by donating to our mask fund. All funds go directly into sourcing and distributing high-quality masks to those who need them.
What is a mask bloc?
- Mask blocs are anarchist, antifascist and abolitionist mutual aid rooted in disability justice, harm reduction and community care.
- Mask blocs resist COVID eugenics through community mask distribution and education.
Why are masks important?
SARS-COV-2 is transmitted through the air we breathe, especially in enclosed spaces without ventilation. Outdoor transmission is also possible when people are unmasked and in close range. 40% of COVID infections are asymptomatic and reinfection is common. Everyone is at risk of disability following infection with SARS-COV-2. Wearing a high-quality mask such as a N95/ KN95 or P2 respirator protects yourself and your community. Silence = death. Resist COVID eugenics!
