Mascot Bowl Donations
Eighteen years ago Jon Absey (then the Utah Jazz Bear) challenged the Sports Marketing Class at Lehi High School to come up with a fun and exciting fundraiser for Firemen and Friends for Kids that would allow them to continue their tradition of taking hundreds of underprivileged children Christmas shopping each year. That challenge provided high school students with opportunities in securing business sponsorships, event marketing and game operations. This is how the concept of Mascot Bowl was created. The event is a football game that pits a team of mascots from the NBA, NFL, NHL, local Colleges and High Schools against a team of 8th Graders. The game is complimented with a variety of events from celebrity Meet and Greets with photo ops and autographs to face painting, games, food trucks, a half time concert and a Fireworks finale. The first year was a huge success! Mascot Bowl has grown by leaps and bounds and has now found a permanent home at Herriman High School and it has grown into a marquee community event.
The challenges of Covid 19 prevented Mascot Bowl from taking place last year, and unfortunately Firemen and Friends for Kids was only able to provide Christmas for a few families. We are now asking for your help with Mascot Bowl 2021 so the this year we will be able to resume our tradition of providing a Merry Christmas for hundreds of underprivileged children.
