Dear friends,
Our deepest sympathies and sincerest condolences are with the entire Ritchie family during this unimaginably difficult time. Words cannot express the beauty and joy Jordan brought to all whom he touched. As one of our own, our hearts are heavy, and we are devastated for the family.
For those who knew him, and those who didn’t, there is a strong desire to support the family and honor Jordan collectively. For this reason, we are coming together to set up a tribute fundraiser in Jordan’s name.
On Saturday, Feb 25th, just over one month passed his 10th birthday, Jordan was suddenly hospitalized for a seizure with no previous occurrence. On Tuesday, March 28th, Jordan tragically passed due to complications from a hospital infection he acquired while doctors and staff relentlessly tried to identify the root cause of his illness. We will soon tell Jordan's story in more detail, hoping that what we learned will help others.
Through the several weeks that Jordan was hospitalized, the Ronald McDonald House Charity of Long Island supported the Ritchie family. As many may know, the RM House provides services, including home-cooked meals, transportation, and a comfortable place to stay steps from the hospital so families can focus on their child’s care. Having access to the RM house ensured Matt, Anna and their daughter Peyton would never be too far from Jordan's side while he was fighting for his life.
We will be collecting charitable donations for the entire month of April. Then we will make a tribute donation to the Ronald McDonald House, in Jordan’s name, at the conclusion.
We encourage everyone to repost, forward, and share this information with anyone wanting to help support Jordan's family and this worthy cause.
Thank you for your prayers and support!
