Mary's Ukrainian appeal
As you all know, I first went to Slovakia in March to help at the Ukrainian border as thousands of refugees were crossing daily. Everyone was so generous which enabled me to do up hundreds of Children's backpacks.
As the war raged on, I wanted to go directly into Ukraine and help on the ground.
This I did in June, and the very real growing need now is for food and hygiene packs.
Thanks to some generous donations, I put together food bags.
Each food bag contains, One bag of rice, one bag of pasta, one packet of sugar, one bag of flour, one bottle of cooking oil, three tins of fish, two cans of meat, one pack of biscuits and two packets of oats.
The hygeine packs contain toothpash, a toothbrush, soap, a facecloth, deoderant and antibacterial wipes. With the donations I was also able to purchase 60 10kg washing powder bags and hundreds of rolls of toilet paper. The Ukrainian refugees that I had the pleasure of working alongside made up hundreds of small bags of washing powder from the 60 10kg bags.
I am returning to the Ukraine on the 31st of August. I need to raise €6,000 in order to continue with providing the food bags and hygeine packs. In order to help raise this money, I am doing a parachute jump on Sunday the 25th of September with the Irish parachute club.
Please please please donate as much as you can to help me with my cause.
