Hello Friends & Neighbors ! We hope everyone is well. We miss you all & gathering at our beloved Mary's .We hope to be able to do that again SOON!
GoFundMe is raising 500$ for small business through their #SmallBusinessRelief grant .We will have to raise 500$ on our own to be eligible , so here we are!
Mary's Market has been closed due to the COVID 19 Crisis since March 20th .We were unable to remain open as our most essential contribution to the community(in addition to yummy breakfast & lunch ) is Providing a gathering place for neighbors .We could not be open safely or financially speaking for Take-out alone .
We were truly hoping to not need any extra help from the community after the successful Kickstarter Campaign that helped us open - thanks to those generous donations & recently a creative puzzle fundraiser, we have been able to weather this Pandemic thus far.
We are reaching out so we can come back to a safe "new normal" which will include more expense and likely only a 25% to 50% capacity for dine-in .Our busy ,packed house weekends that kept us a float in the past , simply will not be how cafes will be allowed to safely operate in the foreseeable future . Allowing less guests will mean lower funds for us to continue to pay utility bills and purchase groceries and supplies to keep the wheels turning & keep Mary's door open ... without us being in debt.
We have applied for many grants and loans ( thank you everyone for your help & suggestions) & it seems we are almost "too small" for small business assistance .We are continuing to apply and reach out in as many ways as we can .
We know that lots of folks are having a hard time in this crisis and we truly appreciate your continued care and support for both the market & Heather & I personally .We are blessed to be part of such an amazing community and hope to be a vital part of it for years to come .
