Hi, I’m Mary Alice. I have experienced many forms of poverty throughout my life. In these conditions I have learned not just about how loving the community in my hometown of York, PA. is and also noticed where the resources are lacking in our communities. One of the biggest issues is lack of fresh fruits and vegetables. I purchased my home in 2023 with a dream to make it a homestead and remove all the grass on this nearly 1/3 acre in favor of planter beds and berry bushes. I want to creat a homestead that gives most of its food away to help feed people while creating community and extended community for others. It will be classified as a business when I decide what most fits my mission to do outreach within my community, and beyond. I am fundraising because while I do have the drive and vision, I don't have the financing and thru a series of personal hardships over the last year, including major surgery, I am currently looking at possibly losing my home before my vision comes to fruition.
