A new trailer for Marty

Donation protected
Ever drive along the highway and notice the abundance of trash, bottles, cans, that sit on the side of the road for days on end, cluttering up the community and environment? Well, Marty does too. In fact, he makes his living off of it.

Meet Marty

Marty Pigue is a 55-year-old veteran who has chosen to dedicate his life to cleaning up Southern California's desert highways.

After leaving the service and riding his bike across the country, Marty opted for a simple life in the open desert along the California/Arizona border. It is there that he started to pick up trash and recyclables along the local highways as a way to earn a living for himself while making a significant difference in the surrounding areas.

The short film below gives a brief look into Marty's daily life, and how he is truly living his life in service to the world. Please watch and read on for the motivation behind this funding page, and how you can help us, help Marty.

While Marty makes a modest living off of the recyclables he picks up in the desert each day, he often relies on the generosity of the locals and passersby who bring him extra food, ice, and transportation into town. He will never ask for anything, but often told us about his goal to buy a smaller trailer to assist him as he hauls around bags of recyclables each day; the large one he has now is a bit too large, and is quickly falling apart.

Marty has had a huge impact on us, and continues to have a huge impact on the world we live in each day- if not only through his daily work, but also through his inspirational story. We want to raise enough funds to replace his old trailer, so Marty can continue to live and serve happily without the stress of an additional expense. If you are able to donate anything at all, we, and Marty, are forever grateful to you for your generosity.

At the end of our campaign, we will return to the desert with any and all funds that are raised and hand them over to Marty for his new trailer, and will document our trip along the way. You will get to see the direct impact that your generosity has on such an inspirational, selfless man and know that your donation is in good hands.

We hope that you will join us on this mission to get Marty a new trailer and make a significant difference in his life.

Thank you!
