Hi! My name is Savannah and i’m creating this go fund me for my dad. My dad has been a self employed construction worker most of his life. He’s worked in Florida, Boston, Lawrence, and back home on a first nations reserve in Canada. I’m one of his 3 daughters, he has a son as well. We were all placed into foster care at a young age so my dad didn’t raise us. Although he always made the continuous effort to travel between countries to see his kids as often as he could. He does not have a drivers license so it was always by bus or catching a ride with someone else. He’d always make sure to be home for holidays and birthdays, award ceremonies and breaks from school. Though we received some sad news during quarantine. My dad had been diagnosed with cancer in his bones. He received his care for it in the states and was unable to see his kids for over a year while he fought cancer. When covid had settled down he was capable of travelling to Canada to see his kids. This is when he had told us about the cancer, but all was good because he was in remission. He continued his lifestyle of travelling back and forth and doing construction. Until a little while ago his cancer had come back. He is a very prideful man and would not accept it having power over him. So he travelled while doing chemotherapy in Boston. As you can imagine it took a huge toll on his body and made it difficult for him to work. But it was his only option to continue to support himself and to come see his kids. I’m happy to say that it was a success! He is looking into moving home (Canada) for good, but will still need to do some travelling for follow up appointments and such. That’s why i am making this go fund me. He won’t directly say it to me but i know that he needs some form of a financial aid, and like i said. He is too much of a prideful man to create a “go fund me” for himself. Any cent we receive will go towards his travel fund, his grocery/ living fund, while he takes the time to let his body fully heal before he starts working again.
