Dear friends, family and community,
On December 14, my darling Aunty (big sister) Bron went through every mother’s worst nightmare when she had the heartbreaking news that her son Jack had taken his own life. He was a gentle soul, a beautiful, kind person and this was unexpected and devastating. Loved by so many, our hearts are now broken.
Jack’s family - Bronwyn, Damien, Christian, Minnie and Cherry - are completely shattered. There are no words to describe the pain for a parent who loses their child or for a sibling who loses their brother. It is an unthinkable tragedy.
I know quite a few people have already made offers of financial help. Bron and Damo would never in a million years expect a fundraiser like this. But as they navigate the tough time ahead of them, we wanted to bring their friends, family and the wider community together to assist as much as they can to make the road a little easier.
There will be many expenses in the weeks and months to come - bringing Jack home, funeral expenses, breaking the rental lease so Jack’s brother Christian can move out of the house they shared, trauma counselling, medical bills and loss of income as running a business during this time will be near impossible.
We can’t take away their pain, but we can help take the strain off them by contributing whatever we can.
I will arrange for all donated money to be transferred directly to Bron so she has complete access to the funds.
Please forward this to anyone who you think might like to contribute. Any amount, however big or small, will help their financial burden so they can focus on their emotional well-being as they process their immense loss.
And please keep sending your messages of love and checking in on them as you are. It is all helping, bit by bit, day by day.
With love and gratitude.
Xx
