Like most families in my hometown of Lake Charles, LA  mine was not spared during Hurricane Laura.  At last count my family members have seen at least 9 homes destroyed and rendered uninhabitable forcing my parents, siblings, aunts, uncles and cousins to evacuate to random places throughout the country.  Some of them are now back home living off generators in damaged homes trying to rebuild.  This hurricane left my family in an awful way.  Electricity may not be restored for months.  This will take at least months if not years to rebuild.  So many of you have asked how you can help.   This is the best way I know how.  If this doesn't work for you, consider other relief agencies as places you can donate.  The entire city was left in disarray.  The recovery will last for a long time.  ANY HELP IS APPRECIATED.    I will disperse the funds to folks in my family to buy food, supplies and make repairs.  The people of Lake Charles cannot do this alone.  YOUR HELP IS THE HOPE THEY NEED !  I set a goal of $5k and the faster we reach that goal the better but honestly any thing that we raise will be a blessing to my family as they begin the long road back home.
