Martin needs us now more than ever.

We found Martin in Paterson, NJ, and when we rescued him, his caretakers told us that he had already been suffering with his prolapse for weeks.

By the time Martin came into our care, his condition was incredibly severe. Our veterinarians have told us that his is the most severe prolapse they have ever seen.

And despite everything he has been through, Martin is a sweet shy boy.. All he has ever needed was someone to give him a chance.

We have now fought alongside Martin through FOUR surgeries to repair his anal prolapse. Four surgeries, countless vet visits, hours of driving, medications, recovery, and so much heartbreak.

This most recent surgery finally gave us hope. For the first time, his repair stayed in place for a full 10 days. After everything we had been through, we truly thought we might finally be turning a corner.

Today, I drove over an hour to the veterinarian to have his stitches removed. I was so hopeful that this would finally be the beginning of the end of this nightmare.

But literally when I arrived at the vet, his prolapse burst back out again.

I was absolutely devastated.

After four failed repairs, our veterinarian has told us that Martin now needs a much more specialized procedure called a colopexy. This surgery needs to be performed by a veterinary specialist/surgeon who can address the underlying reason his prolapse continues to recur.

We have contacted several specialists and are being told to expect the surgery to cost at least $5,000.

That is an amount we simply do not have.

We have already spent so much trying to give Martin a chance, and we have reached a point where we cannot take on another $5,000+ veterinary bill on our own. But after everything Martin has endured, we are not ready to give up on him.

Martin has fought through four surgeries.

He survived weeks of suffering before he ever came into our care.

He has endured procedure after procedure and continues to be the same incredibly sweet boy through it all.

Our goal is to raise $5,000+ to get Martin the specialized surgery he desperately needs. Any additional funds raised will go toward his veterinary care, medications, follow-up appointments, and recovery.

Every donation, no matter how small, brings Martin one step closer to getting the care he needs. Even $5 helps.

If you aren’t able to donate, sharing this fundraiser is just as important. You never know who might see Martin’s story and know the right surgeon, an organization that can help, or simply be able to give him the chance he needs.

We are also desperately looking for any veterinary specialist or surgeon who may be able to perform Martin’s colopexy for less than the $5,000+ estimates we have received. If you have any leads, resources, rescue assistance programs, or connections that could help, please reach out.

We found Martin when he was already suffering. We took him in because we couldn’t leave him that way.

Now, after everything he has endured, we just want to give him the chance to know what it feels like to be comfortable and pain-free.

Martin is still here. He’s still fighting.

Please help us give Martin the miracle he desperately needs. ❤️‍

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts to everyone who donates, shares, sends encouragement, or keeps Martin in their thoughts. Every single act of kindness means more than we can say. Thank you all.
