Martham Platinum Jubilee Booklet

We need your help to celebrate Martham’s past!
To mark the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, Martham Local History Group has written a booklet, ‘Martham - 70 Years of Change 1952-2022’ to be a lasting souvenir.
Over the last 70 years Martham has changed from a small rural village with no mains water or sewerage into the developed and rapidly growing village we see today of nearly 4,000 people. We have collected the memories of local people and built a picture of change during the Queen’s reign. These memories are an important part of local social history.
There are many new families living here. This booklet will also help them to know what has been happening in Martham over the last 70 years, as well as to appreciate and enjoy the history that remains. We also hope that receiving this booklet will make everyone feel welcome and included in the community.
We plan to deliver by hand a copy to every household in Martham – some 3000 copies. The booklet is 100 pages and includes many photographs.
The total cost of printing the booklet will be £4350.00. The History Group has reserved £1,000 as match funding and advertisers and donations have promised £800. We need your help to raise a further £2,500.
Please give what you can to this appeal and help us make a memorable contribution which celebrates our history and what makes Martham such an individual and much-loved place.
