Martha recently received an unexpected diagnosis of kidney cancer following a car accident. Thankfully, she was unharmed from the accident itself; however, a scan revealed the cancer.

Surgery is scheduled for March 20th, and she will have a recovery period of at least four weeks. During this time, she will miss wages approximately 6 to 8 weeks of work due to the surgery and necessary follow-up appointments.

Unfortunately, Martha does not have sufficient sick leave accrued, as she recently transitioned to a new school district, and she will need to manage her insurance coverage for the days she is unable to work.

Funds raised will help cover the lost wages during this recovery period, as well as address the $2,000 deductible, $1,170 in insurance premiums, and other related expenses that arise from her cancer treatment.
