Mark to Mozambique (with SERVE)

Hi everyone,
My name is Mark, I'm a 22-year-old engineering student from Skerries, Co. Dublin. In July 2023 I'm hoping to travel to Beira, Mozambique, to volunteer alongside SERVE, but to do so I need your help.
SERVE is a Cork-based development and volunteering organisation committed to tackling the root causes of poverty to achieve justice, equality and opportunities for all. Since 2003 SERVE has worked in solidarity with some of the poorest and most disadvantaged communities in Southern Africa, South-East Asia and South America.
Youth unemployment is a major problem in many countries around Africa. In Mozambique, SERVE partners with Young Africa to enhance the lives of vulnerable young people. Young Africa runs youth empowerment programmes in skill centres in Southern Africa to help educate thousands of young people about employability and entrepreneurship. The SERVE Development Programme (SDP) is a response to the challenges of youth unemployment and risks to the well-being of youth in targeted communities in Zimbabwe, Mozambique and Zambia. The SDP has benefited over 2700 students in Young Africa Mozambique to date.
I am taking part in SERVE’s volunteer programme to Mozambique this summer and am fundraising to financially support projects there. SERVE volunteers will contribute to the ongoing skills training and personal development projects within the Young Africa campus. Duties will include construction work and organizing community events. These projects reach the most vulnerable, supporting the poorest members of society.
Please support my fundraising efforts. Your support can make a meaningful difference to the lives of people living in poverty.
