My mother, Jessica, and her partner, Mark, are two of the strongest, most loving people I know—but right now they’re facing a season of struggle that no one should have to go through alone.

In January 2024, Mark was diagnosed with cancer. Since then, he’s been bravely fighting through treatments and recently underwent a major surgery that has left him unable to work. At the same time, my mom has been battling an autoimmune disease and chronic pain that make daily life extremely difficult, let alone trying to earn an income.

Because of their health struggles, they’ve both been out of work and are under tremendous financial strain. Despite everything they’re going through, my mom has continued to pour her heart into raising my oldest son and being the rock of our family. She and Mark have always been there for me—even during my hardest times with addiction—showing unconditional love, grace, and resilience.

Now, it’s my turn to try and be there for them. They truly have the biggest hearts, and they deserve the chance to focus on healing without the added weight of financial stress.
