Maria, Brandon, James, Jude Home Fire Damage
Donation protected
My sister, Maria Gillis, and her young family received a devastating call from the Fire Department early morning yesterday (12/10) that their "home" had completely burned down and that nothing could be salvaged. Maria and her boyfriend, Brandon Isakov, purchased land to build their future home a couple of years ago for themselves and their two sons, James (6) and Jude (5). During the warmer months and through the present, their home is their travel trailer that they keep on their property. Maria and Brandon are always so giving of themselves to help others, so at the time, they were actually working to help others -- they have been in Fort Myers part of this past week to gut our aunt's house that was totally damaged by the hurricane two months ago. James and Jude have been staying with grandparents and family while Maria and Brandon are there working through the next few days.
This trailer was their home except during the coldest winter months. Maria and Brandon kept their most sentimental memories and belongings, as well as life's necessities, all in that trailer with them so it would always be with them, and now everything is gone. The cause of the fire is unknown, and, unfortunately, the trailer was uninsured. They still have a long ways to go before they finish building their home, as they are the only two working on it. Everything they owned was invested in this trailer and in the house they started.
Maria did not want me to make this for them, but as her sister and best friend, I wanted to do anything I could to help them during this tragedy. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you so much.
