Margaret's Acupuncture Service Trip to Nepal!

Hi! My name is Margaret Weiser and I'm an acupuncturist in Denver, Colorado.

I am going to Nepal in October 2023 to help provide acupuncture and first aid to remote villages in the Himalayas. Many of these communities are several days of trekking to the nearest medical clinic as there are no roads to their villages, leaving the communities without necessary services for long stretches of time.

It has always been a dream of mine to use my skills to give back while also expanding my worldview. This trip will be an incredible experience for me as I will be able to do this while also working and learning alongside local shamans in the communities we service. Because the spiritual aspect of healing has always been central to my path as a bodyworker, having this opportunity will be a life-changing adventure.

These funds will be used to:

-purchase medical supplies, camping/trekking supplies, food

-purchase travel health insurance, Nepal Visa

-pay sherpas, teachers, and translators

-pay entrance fees to monasteries and world heritage sites, as well as permits for restricted areas

-reserve a hotel room in Kathmandu for my arrival and departure

-recover from the lost wages of being away from my office for almost a month (there is no such thing as paid time off in my life!)

-purchase air fare (donating air miles is also an option I'd happily accept!)

Donations to this GoFundMe are not tax deductible. A tax deductible donation is possible, however, if you donate $500+ to my trip. Reach out to me directly and I can connect you with my organization who can accept this donation, then funnel it to me. They are not able to do this for amounts less than $500, as the paperwork is intensive.
