Marathon for Voting Rights!
Tax deductible
I’m running a marathon to support voting rights on June 5th!
In May of 2020, I began volunteering with the Stanford-MIT Healthy Elections Project, serving as a co-lead on the Litigation Tracker team. The Litigation Tracker was designed to promote public awareness of the stress the pandemic has placed on election and voting laws across the country, with the aim of providing election officials, legislators, scholars and the interested public a place to locate, sort and better understand the recent spate of COVID-related election cases.
In the face of health and state barriers, the general 2020 election ended up producing the highest voter turnout rate in American history. After the election, however, we find ourselves facing new and serious challenges to voter suppression.
Looking forward, I am hoping to continue my efforts to support public awareness around voting rights and election reform. To do so, I will be running 26.2 miles this June to raise money for the Common Cause Education Fund (Ccef), a non-profit sister organization of Common Cause that supports national, state, and local efforts to strengthen our democracy.
Ccef is a recognized leader in the voting and elections field, working at both national and state levels to: Ensure that voting processes are free, fair, and accessible; expand access through modernization efforts; protect against barriers to voting; provide leadership in election protection efforts; and develop solutions to address the cyber security threats in our elections.
My goal is to raise $2,620 for Ccef -- $100 dollars for every mile.
It would mean the world to me if you considered donating to my campaign or spread awareness about the Common Cause Education Fund in the time before my race. All contributions given through this fundraiser are donated to the Common Cause Education Fund directly.*
With sincere thanks to all for your support and care!
Love,
Alexandra (Mac) Taylor
