Hello, my name is Ciarán McGeown. This year I have chose to run the Belfast marathon in support of Parkinson’s UK. I have picked this charity as my Dad was diagnosed with Parkinson’s back in 2020. It has had a real impact on his day to day life both physically and mentally.
My dad benefits a lot from the help Parkinson’s UK in Northern Ireland provides - whether it be from the meetings held on a regular basis, the various events they host or the days out with others living with the disease. My dad has made many new friends through the charity and learned how to live with Parkinson’s disease.
The money raised from this fundraisers will go directly to Parkinson’s UK and will help provide care for those suffering with the disease, fund research for new treatments and hopefully get us closer to a cure.
My dad means the absolute world to me, he has always put everyone before himself and I just want to do something to give back to him.
Any support at all would be greatly appreciated, thank you!
Ciarán.
