Harlem Lacrosse - Manhasset Friendship Day

Dear Friends & Families,
Hi! As you know, we LOVE lacrosse!! We are fortunate to be a part of the Manhasset lacrosse community and recognize that we are blessed to be in a position to give back to communities in need of support.
We researched and emailed many organizations for opportunities to volunteer our time to support a lacrosse organization for underprivileged kids. After much research, we found an amazing organization, Harlem Lacrosse. Harlem Lacrosse’s mission is to empower children who are most at risk for academic decline and dropout to rise above their challenges and reach their full potential. Harlem Lacrosse inspires children to dream about tomorrow while working hard on the field and in the classroom today. This incredible organization has now moved into other cities beyond New York.
Harlem Lacrosse currently has many partnerships with lacrosse clubs, high schools and universities throughout the US, and we are very enthusiastic about building a partnership with Harlem Lacrosse. Our partnership with Harlem Lacrosse will make a difference in the lives of kids who share a passion for lacrosse and want to attend universities and colleges.
Our intent is to raise funds for:
HARLEM LACROSSE / MANHASSET FRIENDSHIP DAY
On Saturday, April 6th– we invited the Promise Academy II Harlem Lacrosse team to attend a Girls Varsity Game--Manhasset vs McDonough (from Maryland). It is sure to be very exciting for all to watch. In addition, we will treat the Harlem team to lunch.
After lunch, players from the Manhasset girls lacrosse teams and Coach Meg Clarke will host and participate in a lacrosse clinic for the Harlem team. It’s going to be a memorable day for all! We will also be giving Manhasset t-shirts to the Harlem team as a parting gift.
We are asking for your monetary support to help us pay for:
· transportation of the Harlem team to and from Harlem
· lunch for the Harlem team
· the Manhasset t-shirt (gift for each member of the Harlem team)
Our goal is raise $2000 to pay for all expenses for this special event.
After we exceed this amount we will be donating the balance directly to Harlem Lacrosse.
We will also seek Manhasset High School student volunteers to represent Manhasset as ambassadors during the friendship day. All student volunteers will receive community service hours from Harlem Lacrosse. Please let us know if you would like to volunteer.
