Mandinaba Skateboard Community Funding

Hey!

Ik ben Michael van Everything Else, een skateboard community gevestigd in België. Al meer dan 20 jaar lang koester ik een passie voor skateboarden. Nu voel ik de drang om via onze community ook iets terug te doen voor andere skate community's of landen waar ze niet beschikken over de nodige materialen, kleding en schoenen.

Waarom is dit belangrijk?

Skateboarden is niet zomaar een sport; het is een krachtige motor voor positieve verandering. In Gambia, een land dat geplaagd wordt door uitdagingen en moeilijkheden, kan het opzetten van een skate community een wereld van verschil maken. Jongeren hebben een veilige plek nodig waar ze zich kunnen uiten, verbinden met anderen en hun potentieel kunnen ontdekken. Door te skateboarden leren ze niet alleen vaardigheden zoals balans en doorzettingsvermogen, maar ontwikkelen ze ook zelfvertrouwen en veerkracht.

Het belang van een skate community in Gambia reikt verder dan de sport alleen. Het biedt een alternatieve vorm van recreatie die jongeren weghoudt van negatieve invloeden en hen een gezonde uitlaatklep biedt voor stress en frustratie.
