Mandi Smith was Reading Mencap's CEO for 15 years before she sadly passed away on 11 August 2025, aged 59.

Under Mandi's exceptional guidance, Reading Mencap grew significantly, becoming the charity we know and cherish today. She was an incredibly kind and caring leader, passionately dedicated to improving the lives of people with learning disabilities and their families.

Mandi's profound impact on everyone at Reading Mencap will never be forgotten. She was a much-loved mother, daughter, sister, and friend, and will be sorely missed by all who knew her.
