For more than 40 years, Mama Tea has dedicated her life to teaching and sharing the old ways, passing down the knowledge that her elders entrusted to her.
She has guided thousands of people in learning how to work with hides, bead and craft with intention, honor the land and animals, and walk through life with a good heart - never asking for anything in return.
On her land along the Slocan River in Winlaw, she has created a home for community, learning, and healing. Her beloved Hide Camp has become a place where people from all walks of life come to reconnect with traditional skills, with each other, and with the land.
But now, the creek that has supplied her property with water has run dry. Without water, Mama Tea cannot stay on her land or continue hosting Hide Camp. To keep this sacred space alive, she urgently needs to drill a well.
By supporting this campaign, you are helping Mama Tea continue her life’s work—stewarding the land, keeping Hide Camp running, and ensuring that the knowledge of the old ways is carried forward to future generations.
