Mama Bear and Cubbins Get Back On Track

Donation protected
On September 7th I had to immediately pull Cub out of his daycare he had been at for almost a year. His behavior had started to change pretty drastically and I had concerns about what could be going on at the daycare. The owner stonewalled me, ignored my concerned texts about what I suspected could be going on and refused to show me footage. Instead she went the route of painting Cub as a problem child who had "just turned bad". I began to ask Cub very specific questions about what was happening to him at daycare and got horrific answers. It was the beginning of a nightmare. CPS was called and passed their investigation off to law enforcement when they found evidence of what I had suspected was taking place. It is an open investigation so I cannot go into detail and also want to respect Cub's right to privacy as well.

The last month and a half have been a hurricane of calls on top of calls, repeating the turn of events over and over, going to the hospital on several occasions because of the severity of the emotional and mental distress that came along with what had happened, seeking counseling for him, doctor's appointments, forensic interviews, and so on. I had to immediately take a leave of absence from work and was unable to go back for over a month, halting my income. I had no energy, time, space, or capacity for any of my creative endeavors or "side hustles". ALL of my time was devoted to Cub, the investigation, finding a new daycare, seeking out therapy for both of us, trying to get emergency assistance (there is no funding anywhere) finding new housing, moving in one day, and getting back to work.

As of now, Cub is doing so well in his new daycare, he loves our new home, and it feels like a fresh start. I've done a pretty good job of sheltering him from how stressful, intense, and scary this has been for me financially but I have no way of making up for losing over a month of income to tend to his immediate and urgent need to get out of that daycare and away from what was happening to him. We're currently in a new apartment with no laundry facilities (in the unit or on-site) and a laundromat with a 4 year old is nearly impossible. I've returned to my job (as of last week) but we're facing a pretty mountainous game of "catch up" financially.

Donations will go toward rent, bills, utilities, and hopefully a washer and drier if we're lucky! Thank you so much for taking the time to read through this. I appreciate it all.
