Making the rest of my moms life truly amazing
Donation protected
Hey everybody. My name is Alicia and I am the daughter of a beautiful mother, Edith Kovacs.
Something devastating has happened to our small little family. Back in June 2022 my mom was diagnosed with stage 3A lung cancer. Everything was manageable until she started treatment in October. She has been through so many ups and down, including hospital visits, feeling sick to the point where she couldn’t get out of bed, but still being her crazy fun self through all of it. The treatment helped a tiny bit, but unfortunately, it was too late.
we found out in the beginning of February that the cancer had metastasized to her brain, placing an ending timeline on her life.
We found out today, March 8th 2023, that she only has about 1-2 years left to live. The doctor said treatment is not an option anymore and that it has progressed to a in-fixable state, however they will keep monitoring her with tests for the rest of her life. She is my only family. She will never see me get married, have kids, or anything that I was so excited to share with her in the future. Cancer is a fucking bitch. It took my mom, my only family, away from me.
I am making this go fund me not because I want people to feel bad for us. We are now appreciating the rest of our time together with friends and family. I am making it because I want to make these existing times the best she could ever have. I would be using this money to help pay rent (we are unsure if she will be going back to work at all), take her to some really cool places, help out with groceries and any other bills, and just overall try to give my mom the quality of life she deserves without having to worry about any financial issues until she reaches her end. I really don’t like asking for money, but I know that even a couple hundred hell even $50 would be a help to us. My mom has no income so far and I am just finishing up my degree in school, saving as much as I can in preparation.
As per usual, a dollar is always great, and if that can’t be done then sharing our story would be greatly appreciated. I know we have very good support systems out there and anything would truly mean the world to us. Even just a visit from friends. Thank you
