Southgate Theatre is an incredible community asset in Honley. We are privileged to have this resource in the Holme Valley. However, we are acutely aware that it is difficult for people with varying physical difficulties to access it currently. We want to change this.
We have had some amazing plans drawn up which illustrate the real possibilities available.
- A ramp to the entrance instead of steps
- Adapting the foyer to accommodate an accessible toilet and 4 individual ones instead of the 2 currently in use.
- Better access to the car park.
- Other cosmetic changes such as a two way bar into the foyer and hall.
We are very excited about these proposals but we need help from anyone who is willing and able to contribute. Every little bit really will help to make this building more useable for many more members of our valued community.
The theatre is a building that is used for many different purposes.
Theatrical performances of course, but also other events such as weddings, parties, circus, film shows, musical performances and much more.
Please help us to keep this important community asset going.
