Making ‘scrubs’ for NHS staff Colchester Hospital

Working with Caroline, head of fundraising for Colchester Hospital, we have learned that there is increased demand for scrubs in Colchester Hospital for supporting our emergency NHS colleagues through the COVID-19 crisis.
We have sourced the labour and skill (a massive database) to make these, but we do not have enough material. Lion Walk has pledged £1500 to kick start the first 100 sets, these have been ordered, and we would like to raise a further £1500 to create 100 more. The more we can raise the more we can make its that simple.
When we reached out to the local community, with the help of the Colchester Community Facebook Group, to seek accomplished seamstresses and sewers, the response has been overwhelming. In just 24 hours we had hundreds and hundreds of responses and around a thousand shares of our call to arms. We have been contacted by so many wonderful people, from professional tailors with workshops to the elderly who are shielding and just want so desperately to help, and we are taking our time to get back to everyone.
Lets get to work to give our amazing friends at Colchester Hospital what they need to stay safe and well.
