Emma’s Story — Making Memories with My Family
Hello, my name is Emma. I’m 44, wife to Paul, and mum to two wonderful children — Ava and Charlie.
In October 2023, I was diagnosed with bowel cancer. After chemotherapy and radiotherapy, we learned that the cancer had spread to my lungs and liver and could not be operated on. Since then, I’ve had several rounds of palliative chemotherapy, but sadly, none have been effective.
Last week, I made the decision to stop all active treatment. My liver has started to fail, and now it’s about focusing on what truly matters — spending time with the people I love most and making special memories with them while I can.
We don’t have local family nearby, and as things progress, I’ll soon no longer be able to drive. The funds from this page will help us in a few ways:
• Allow Paul to take time off work to be with the children when they need him most
• Help with transport and day-to-day needs as my independence fades
• Most importantly, create meaningful experiences and memories with Ava and Charlie in the time we have together
This isn’t an easy thing to write, but I wanted to share honestly where we are and what your kindness would mean to us. Your support — whether through a donation or simply sharing this page — will make a real difference in helping us focus on love, comfort, and togetherness during this time.
Thank you, from the bottom of my heart,
Emma x
