Making Memories: 100 Mile Motorcycle Ride Challenge
Donation protected
I have been working at an Assisted Living and Memory Care community since January 2023. While it’s not where I thought I would wind up, I’ve come to learn that it is exactly where I belong. As a Life Enrichment Director and Certified Dementia Practitioner, much of my world revolves around cultivating meaningful experiences for seniors.
This year, my colleague, Ed Thacker, and I will be participating in the Alzheimer’s Association’s 100 Mile Motorcycle Ride Challenge. We are asking for direct pledges to support our cause. Every dollar raised will go directly into our community. These funds will be used to hire live entertainment, upgrade our art supplies, purchase dementia-friendly games & activities, and more.
If you’re interested in donating to the Alzheimer’s Association directly, you can do so. However, for my birthday (June 11) this year I am asking friends and families to support us via a personal donation so we can make a direct impact on the fine folks of my community.
The Longest Day is June 20, 2024. Ed and I will be making our 100 mile ride on Friday, June 21. We are hoping to raise $5 per mile we ride. If we get more than $500 in donations, we just might have to ride off into the sunset. It's a sacrifice we are willing to make. (;
