Making all our steps count

These girls are stepping up to Walk for Autism in the month of March to show how much we all care about autism.
We will be cheering each other on in our team to walk 50,000 steps every week for the month of march. We are all committed to raising much needed funds to support autistic children and adults through Colchester Autism Anglia and also help to spread autism acceptance and understanding.
Help make all our steps count and show your support by donating today!

“Donations of any size are welcome, and if donations can’t be made then something as simple as sharing our donation link would mean the world to us.”

Thank you for helping us to spread autism acceptance and understanding.

Testimonies:

Emma- having a child myself who has autism, I have great understanding of the struggles family face when it comes to receiving support from different services. Autism Anglia has been a great help to myself when dealing with refusal of EHCP but also accessing support groups when I needed them most, when coming to terms with my child’s diagnosis and being made to feel I weren’t alone. It’s a great charity and they rely on donations to keep offering their amazing services of support.

Jenny - When I got the diagnosis for my Son, I didn't know what to do next to help him. One phone call to Autism Anglia and they sprung into action. They put me on a course aimed at parents focusing on themselves first, it felt good to be considered among his support. My Son was then welcomed and included in their activities. They were such a great help and an absolute wealth of information for us. They helped us through a difficult time in my Sons life and we're forever grateful to them.

Kirsty - autism anglia has really helped me in understanding the impact on my child's life and the struggles he goes through daily, such as developing and maintaining friendships, communicating with peers and adults. Autism anglia have helped me with his EHCP and information on schools on where best would suit his needs. Also support groups where I've met and stayed in contact with other families who are going through or have been through similar experiences. Supporting a great charity who offer support for adults and young children and their families.

Rachael: I am very excited to be supporting such a great cause, since working in a nursery I have come across children with different needs and ASD, and definitely am in full support in raising money for Autism Anglia who support children, young adults and families with autism. I am quite athletic and enjoy exercising, this will definitely give me the motivation to do more and raise as much money as we can.

Faith - having 3 close friends of mine who have children with diagnosis of Autism and ADHD, I see the struggles they have to face on a day to day basis. After hearing about Autism Anglia and passing this onto them, they are a great charity who help the parents as well as the children, and doing the walk I hope will raise more awareness for others.

Kacey- Hearing about all the struggles people go through having autism and ADHD I believe some people should be more aware of this and with that hopefully doing this walk it will help raise more awareness.

Kacey c - working as a nursery practitioner we come into contact with lots of children with Autism and SEND, and is the reason as to why raising money for this amazing cause is so important to me. Children with Autism and SEND deserve the same quality of life as everyone else, however there is a lack of support and knowledge around Autism and SEND, this causes a impact on not only the person with Autism/SEND but also their families and the people around them! 1 in 100 people suffer Autism in the uk! Autism is a lifelong disability, so I am hoping that we can raise lots of awareness for this cause to increase the help towards children and adults with Autism. Please help us in supporting this amazing charity!
