Making Shakespeare's Work HEARD!

The New Mexico Shakespeare Festival is proud to present free Summer Shakespeare in the Park, performing annually in the beautiful outdoor setting of the New Mexico Veterans Memorial Park.

Everything we do is in the service of our mission: to mount excellent productions of the plays of William Shakespeare and allied works of theater, by and for all the people of New Mexico, and to engage in the broadest possible educational outreach programs, with the aim of using Shakspeare’s legacy to enrich and unify our community through the power of theater.

We are committed to providing the best experience for our audience as we share our love of Shakespeare's work. For our 2025 summer festival season, we are proud and excited to present full productions of Othello and Much Ado About Nothing.

While our lovely venue offers a welcoming atmosphere for our audiences, the acoustics present challenges.

That's why for the 2025 season (and beyond) we are dedicated to upgrading our audio and lighting equipment to create an even more immersive and engaging experience for all.

To do this, we will need the generous support of members of our audience and larger community to help us provide crystal-clear sound that only a major audio upgrade will provide.

Your generous contribution to this cause will ensure that all audience members can easily hear (and understand) the beautiful words that our talented cast members will speak on our outdoor stage at each and every performance.

In addition to our annual free summer festival we have an Educational Outreach Program that brings theater workshops, lectures, and performances of scenes, speeches and sonnets to students of all ages in the Albuquerque area and beyond. This helps the community understand the language of Shakespeare, and the story arc of any play that we choose to perform. We have a dedicated group of actors who excitedly take these performances into the community year-round.
Recently these actors performed vignettes at UNM's Medieval Faire as well as on the Railrunner train between Albuquerque and Santa Fe every Saturday in June.

Because we are a nonprofit theater and education organization, your donation is tax deductible.

Please consider donating to our equipment needs and to support the festival in general!

Thank you for your support!
We look forward to seeing you - and you seeing and HEARING us - at our festival performances!
