PPE for NYC

We're Makelab, we're a 3D printing service company in Brooklyn, NYC.
Like much of our 3D printing community, we saw a huge need for PPE and an opportunity to help by repurposing our internal operations and pivoting to manufacturing Protective Face Shields.
**UPDATE**
As thousands of people continue to gather to protest police brutality and systemic racism, the need for protection grows. We are working with Made in NYC to donate PPE to protesters needing protection from pepper spray and COVID. We are still enduring a pandemic, it is not going away and we still need protection.
One of 3D printing’s best advantages is that it offers an agile and lean supply chain. As we kept hearing news of critical PPE shortages, we couldn't not jump in. As a lean, agile startup, pivoting and adjusting quickly to rise to the need is our specialty. This is what we do.
Healthcare workers, frontline EMS and first responders, peaceful protesters, and other essential workers are in need of Protective Face Shields.
Help us help them.
As of now, we are able to manufacture 1000 Protective Face Shields per week + 750 Mask extenders (Ear Savers) per week. We are continuously working to add more safe and viable PPE products to the donation pool, including custom-made mask fitters.
Our shield designs are a variation of the Prusa Protective Face Shield.
With your help to reach our goal of $20,000, we are able to purchase more raw materials, machinery, and labor to increase our output by at least 2x.
So far, we have used our own funds to purchase: clear plastic binder dividers (visor shield), PLA filament, foam, rubber bands, packaging material, shipping.
