I am reaching out to you today with a heartfelt appeal to raise funds for the publication of my book, "The Gendered City." This two-year work of passion explores the complex and multifaceted experiences of individuals in urban environments, focusing on the intersections of gender, ethnicity, class, and culture.

Cities are far from neutral spaces. They reflect the inequalities and power structures deeply ingrained in our societies. For too long, urban design has perpetuated outdated social norms, reinforcing patriarchal and paternalistic gender roles. The separation of public and private spaces has limited access for women, girls, and sexual and gender minorities, creating hostile and exclusive cities.

"The Gendered City" aims to illuminate the richness and complexities of urban lives and experiences among diverse groups. By applying an intersectional feminist lens, the book deconstructs gender as a fixed category and explores how it intersects with race, class, and sexuality. This approach reveals the unique experiences of oppression and privilege faced by different individuals and communities.
