Middleton Hall & Gardens has always been more than just a beautiful place—it’s a testament to the power of community.

Decades ago, a small group of passionate local volunteers rescued this historic site from dereliction. They saw past the decay and recognised Middleton’s true potential. Their tireless work gave the Hall a second chance - preserving its heritage and opening it up for future generations to enjoy.

Now, it’s time for the community to rally once more.

We’re beginning a new chapter: transforming our core visitor experience - what people see and enjoy on any regular open day. This isn’t about one-off events or private functions, but about the very heart of Middleton Hall. We want every visit to be engaging, beautiful, and inspiring.

To begin with, we’ll be focusing on the oldest part of the Hall - where Middleton’s rich history is felt most strongly in the fabric of each room. Alongside this, we’ll also include a small number of carefully chosen rooms from the newer side of the building, each playing an important role in supporting the broader visitor experience and bringing balance to the overall transformation.

Our team has crafted a strong vision for how each room could look and feel - but to bring these ideas to life, we first need to make them visible.
