Make Me a Maples

Hi, we're the Maples! I remember as a little girl when we talked about what we wanted to be when we grew up almost all my friends wanted to be a teacher. I always said I wanted to be a Mom. I remember a family down the street adopted a girl with down sydrome and I always thought that was such an awesome idea. Thats when God placed adoption on my heart. When Evan and I met almost 15 years ago, we began discussing our dreams of someday having a family. After years of struggling with infertility, I knew why God placed that on my heart all those years ago. It took a little while for Evan to get on board, fear had a hold on him. About 4 years ago, we were ready! We took all the classes, paid the money, did the homestudy only for the doors to close over and over again. About a year ago I remember laying in bed, sobbing as we prayed telling God "I give up. My heart cant take it anymore. I must not be meant to be a Mom". Thats what He was waiting for, surrender. I got a FB message from a long time friend who I met at church as a little girl. She told me a situation about her niece needing a family. Honestly, it seemed so far fetched. I kinda passed it off. A short time later she contacted me again and I figured "if it excites you and terrifies you, you should definitely try it". So we did. None of us really ever thought adoption would happen. But nothing short of a miracle of God, the time has come. Both parents have agreed, the attorney has been hired and we are humbly asking for your help to officially make our sweet girl a Maples! So many of you have prayed for and with us about this day. We are externally grateful. So many of you asked what you could do to help and now is the time for that.
